Do I need to bring anything to the classes?
Not really. All materials are provided for each class. You may bring examples of previous art work, reference photos that you would like to paint, or a camera to document your progress through the class. You may also bring a beverage, lunch, or something to snack on.
What should I wear?
If possible, please wear something you wouldn't mind getting a little paint on. For the classes at my studio in Waimea, I have aprons available.
Can I take just one class?
My classes are designed to cover the basics in just one class period. If you feel that you would like more instruction, then feel free to sign up for another class. It is designed this way so that visitors and locals can take classes depending on their particular schedule. (In other words, my classes don't meet every week at a certain time. They are designed to be flexible.)
What if I want to take a class, but I am not available on the day it is scheduled?
I try to be as flexible as possible with my schedule. If you see a class and would like to take it, but your work schedule (or site-seeing schedule) conflicts with the class, just call me or e-mail me. We can always schedule in a private lesson for you.
Do I need to let you know that I will attend (or cancel) a class?
Yes. I would appreciate a phone call or e-mail at least a few hours before the class starts to let me know that you are coming. This way I can have all of the supplies set up. If you have signed up for a class and can't make it, just call me (808.631.9173) and let me know that you are not coming. (So I don't worry about you!)
